Revelation and the Revealed Jesus

Tuesdays, from 7 PM ET - 8:15 PM ET from July 8 until July 29, 2025.

Description

Exiled on the island of Patmos, John receives a revelation: he sees and hears Jesus of Nazareth. What unfolds from there--images of lampstands and dragons--all ultimately point back to how the Crucified and Risen Jesus is revealed in the present world. In this four-week course, we will look at John's apocalypse and ask questions such as:
  • What is Jesus revealed to be?
  • How does the identity of Jesus shape John's description of the believing community?
  • How does evil parody God's divine rule and good creation?
  • What guidance does Revelation offer us? What guidelines does it give us for evaluating and responding to things that are hard to make sense of?
