Trauma Informed Care and Ministry
Thursdays, from 10 AM ET until 11:00 AM ET from August 22 through September 19, 2024
Description
Trauma is a pervasive part of human experience!
A majority of Americans will experience at least one potentially traumatic event by the time they’re 18, and collective atrocities have shown that trauma is not just individual but also collective.
This course will equip you to deepen your understanding of the concept of trauma and the kind of support you can offer to those in need.
We will discuss:
- the difference between distress, trauma, and PTSD;
- what secondary trauma is;
- what the best practices of trauma-informed care are; and
- how caregivers can engage in wellness practices to make their work sustainable.
Scholarships are available for this course, please email us at candlerfoundry@emory.edu for more information.
